How to Handle Disagreeable People
Saturday Jun 22, 2024
Saturday Jun 22, 2024
Why do people whine and complain and play the victim even when circumstances seem good? To answer that question, we had best start by examining our own reasons for complaining. If we don't, then eventually God will let us know whether He thinks our reasons are valid.

Our Place in the Camp
Saturday Jun 15, 2024
Saturday Jun 15, 2024
Did God redeem us so we could do as we please for all eternity, or does He have a greater purpose for us? Assuming He does have such a purpose for us all, then we should probably put more emphasis on learning about that purpose, and about how to live it now so we'll be better prepared for eternity.

Understanding Paul
Saturday Jun 01, 2024

Do we think of Paul as a Christian theologian, or a Jewish Torah scholar? The answer to that question reveals the way we read - or misread - Paul's letters.

Let's Make A Deal
Saturday May 25, 2024
Saturday May 25, 2024
All the real estate transactions recorded in the Bible emphasize that God awarded the land of Israel to the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Why do we have trouble understanding how that Divine decree still applies to the Jewish people today?

A Lesson In Resurrection
Saturday May 18, 2024
Saturday May 18, 2024
Holiness is a matter of life and death. That can be a difficult concept to understand if we don't know what holiness is. Let's start with the premise that life itself is holy. That's why our holy God offers resurrection as the means of transcending the corruption of death.

One Heart At A Time
Saturday May 11, 2024
Saturday May 11, 2024
We Christians don't think much about the Torah. If we've even heard the word, we probably think of it as the old Law of Moses that doesn't apply to us. That's why we're surprised to learn that Jesus taught the Law of Moses, and expected His followers to use it as a guide for their lives.

God is the Creator and Redeemer of humanity. That's what we read in the Bible and sing about in worship services, but what do we really think about it? If we could redeem ourselves, would we? And if we could, would we really be all that different?

Saturday Apr 20, 2024
We all want to live forever - or do we? Maybe what we really want is relief from the suffering of this life. That's what we expect in the life to come, but what if this life is preparation for responsibilities we will carry in the next life?
